A Space for Grace Soul Care Retreat
Coming: September 2025
Limited places, so book early to avoid disappointment…..
Come and join me for a soul nurturing 3-night Retreat in the serene Perth Hills. I’d love to welcome you into the beauty, grace and tranquil vibe of the area for a special time of refreshing and reset.
Jesus said “……come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest” (Mark 6:31) This is a touching picture of the concern, gentleness and wisdom of Christ for the care and wellbeing of His followers.
Most of us find life fast paced, busy, intense and often stressful; sometimes painful. We get swept up in the doing of our lives and rest and self-care takes a back seat. In the words of Dr Alicia Britt Cole, “seasons of highly focused DO must be anchored by the discipline of highly consistent BE”.
So….. is Jesus calling you to come away to a quiet place to get some rest? Could you do with some gentle breathing space to just “Be”? To retreat from everyday life, rest and nurture your spirit, soul and body?
Are you in need of some “pouring in” to fill your tank and nourish your own well-being, healing and growth journey?
Are you intrigued with supportive practices like therapeutic writing, creativity, sound baths, nature immersions, mindfulness and Christ centred meditations?
Does spending time with like-minded women in a beautiful location spark your interest?
If this sounds like your vibe, or if your spirit is leaping inside you and you feel that “burning within your heart” that the disciples on the road to Emmaus described, then……
Come and join me……
There is a Space for Grace waiting just for you!
Imagine
….waking up each morning to the beautiful mist hovering over the native trees and bush around you. You might partake of the morning Christ centred meditations on offer or maybe walk the nature Labyrinth at sunrise in spiritual contemplation. Perhaps you’re more inclined to enjoy a steaming hot cup of peppermint or chai tea on your own while you tune into the morning sounds of bird songs and the gentle whispers of the Holy Spirit.
We will be spending three gorgeous nights and days at Nathanael’s Rest Retreat centre immersed in spiritual and soul care practices with personal and sacred intentions led by the Holy Spirit.
We will be gathering right at the change of seasons……. saying goodbye to Winter and hello to Spring for 2024! Perhaps this will even serve you as a guiding metaphor for your time away.
Over the three days, there will be time to lean into community, time to explore, share and to get to know others and to be known. There will also be plenty of space for you to pursue solitude and quietness as you desire.
We’ll also be experiencing the soothing and graceful sounds of the Harp on one of our shared evenings together. I love this instrument that David played in the Old Testament and how it remains today as a spiritual symbol of worship in heaven. This sound bath is truly ethereal and will prepare you beautifully for a peaceful night’s sleep.
It’s beautiful here and you are worthy of some time to unwind, relax and reconnect with your Maker, Yourself and perhaps even your creative spark!
Sometimes “being productive” actually looks like resting & recharging.
About Your Host
Your soulful host for this special retreat is Narelle Williams. A lifelong adventurer, ponderer and the principal counsellor, grief support specialist and family therapist at Bethesda Counselling and Family Therapy. She is passionate about emotional healing, health and wholeness and has been walking alongside those who need to find healing and peace after significant life events such as childhood abuse and neglect, abortion, grief and loss and relationship issues for almost two decades. Her greatest love and highest devotion is to the Lord Jesus Christ.
“I’ve been to the pyramids in Egypt, hiked through the Altai mountains in Mongolia, sailed on the Nile & the Zambezi rivers & floated in the Dead Sea in Israel
I’m a strong INFJ, adore toy poodles, sausage dogs & drinking “proper” tea from fine China tea cups
As a child I wanted to be a marine biologist. I’ve studied floristry, interior design and have quals in agribusiness, counselling and family therapy. I use to drive tractors, trucks & headers in my early life. I once had a business as a dog groomer. I use to own horses & play polo crosse.
My favourite fiction book is the “Magic Wishing Chair” by Enid Blyton
I like moving paint around on paper – Water colours are the best…
My favourite guilty pleasures are clinkers & chocolate bullets & my one big addiction is books (real not digital)
“just can’t help myself”
So Back to the retreat…
What’s the Accomodation Like?
Nathanael’s Rest is perfectly situated to provide a quiet space for retreat in the natural beauty of the Perth hills. This seven acre semi-rural property features pasture, grapevines, trees and a small winter creek. Its only forty minutes from central Perth making it perfect for an escape without having to drive hundreds of kilometres or get on a plane. It’s also walking distance from the Mundaring Village which has a true community and artistic vibe, plus great little coffee shops, Art Centre and gift shops.
There’s space for twelve of us; Four twin rooms and four single rooms (one single room with disabled bathroom facility). All bedrooms have an ensuite bathroom, ceiling fans and heaters. Linen and towels are provided. These rooms are simple, humble & comfy.
There’s a large but cosy open meeting room with wood fire and lounge chairs and full kitchen facilities. A wrap around verandah area provides us with beautiful spaces to journal, paint, reflect, have our cuppas and even share meals together, all while looking out over the trees and listening to bird song. Think simple, rustic, serene and beautiful.
A favourite part of the property for me is the gorgeous nature labyrinth for us to walk.
The labyrinth is an ancient form of reflective walking. Labyrinths have been known for several thousand years, having different shapes and styles according to the tradition from which they were birthed. It has long been used for purposes that are significant to the soul and well-being of the spirit. We will learn more about walking the labyrinth at the retreat.

Absolutely not! Think of the retreat like a smorgasbord – I foster a true opt in/opt out culture so you are completely free to engage with what feels right for you over the three days – whether that is time in solitude or with others. It’s all about you and your choice.
Narelle will provide you with all you need to participate in the creative and soul nurturing pursuits on offer, therapeutic writing and meditations etc. You will receive your own journal, gorgeous pen to keep as well as other goodies in your gift bag. There will also be oodles of art supplies for you to choose from for group and solo activities if that’s your thing. (I love encouraging others to explore their creative spark!)
You might like to bring cosy ugg boots and a jumper as it still gets cool in the evenings at the start of Spring.
Walking/hiking shoes if you’d like to go for an afternoon stroll or visit John Forest National Park or Lake Leschenaultia on your way home. (Lake Leschenaultia has a 3km trail that is flat and easy walking, John Forest has multiple trails of various levels)
A drink bottle – always important to stay hydrated.
We have 4 Four twin rooms and four single rooms (one single room with disabled bathroom facility) so if you get in quick, you can pay the supplement and secure yourself a single room. Bringing a friend can also be a great idea, but often what happens is that you will make a new friend if you share a room!
